Russia 2007-2008

For its 2007-2008 campaign for Russia, Russian Standard Vodka is proud to work with Guido Mocafico, a renowned photographer who has worked for several luxury brands including Gucci, Shiseido, YSL, Clinique, Bulgari, Armani and Hermes.. “This campaign celebrates our brands’ unique position as the most authentic Russian vodkas of the highest quality on the market,” said Carlo Radicati, CEO of Russian Standard Vodka. “Russian Standard is the leading premium vodka in Russia and we are confident that this new campaign will help us further strengthen our position in Russia.” The two ads–one for flagship brand Russian Standard Original and the other for Russian Standard Platinum–feature a bottle on ice, surrounded by iconic lifestyle accessories highlighting the unique characteristics of each vodka brand. The Russian Standard Original ad features luscious caviar, a Denis Simachev shawl with a Russian-motif print, Russian winter wheat and shot glasses, to signify the Russian authenticity of the product, the original grain taste of the liquid and the Russian tradition of drinking vodka straight. The tagline for the ad is “From the heart, from the soul”, which expresses the brand’s tradition and everlasting values. The Russian Standard Platinum ad– surrounded by must-have accessories such as sunglasses, an i-Pod, and Manolo heels– was created to capture the hip pulse and buzz of Russia’s dynamic spirit, with the tagline “Till the morning” further illustrating the brand’s energy and spirit of success.

VODKA IS RUSSIAN Shot by leading fashion and still-life photographer Raymond Meier, the Imperia campaign highlights the bottle's majestic stature and uncompromising luxury. Meier is a contributing photographer to the American and International editions of VOGUE and T: The New York Times Magazine. Set against the luxurious red of Imperial Russia, the towering Imperia bottle, with its six sided precious flint glass, expresses the indulgence and power worthy of a liquid with exceptional and unparalleled purity.

The Russian Standard film is a veritable tour de force taking us through the timeless mystery, glamour and heritage of today's Russia. From brutally beautiful women to decadent design, mysterious landscapes to no-holds-barred fashion, this kaleidoscope of new Russia revolves around a glass of Russian Standard vodka. A single sip of Russian Standard takes our Hero through the maximalist mash-up that is contemporary Russia. Director Michael Haussman, who has shot music videos for Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and Kanye West, is known for creating instant classics with cult appeal. Haussman's ad creations include spots for Ray-Ban, Levi's and Yves Saint Laurent. "Russian Standard is Russia's history, icons, and culture, blending them with contemporary influences into a very modern, sexy and artistic Russia," said Haussman, who was an established fan of Russian Standard Vodka before taking on the project. Additional creative direction came from Donald Schneider, the ad's art director. Schneider is the former creative director of French Vogue and Vogue Hommes International. His experience in the fashion and luxury industry has seen him realize campaigns for Chloé, Hugo Boss, and the legendary H&M - Karl Lagerfeld collaboration. John Mathieson, director of photography, has been at the helm of some of the biggest films of this decade, including Ridley Scott's Gladiator. His camerawork was first recognized in "Peek-a-Boo" a music video for cult-band Siouxsie and the Banshes.
